Trojans, Panthers bowl in Ottuwma

OTTUMWA — Both Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant kicked off the 2019 bowilng season with a trip to Ottumwa on Tuesday, Nov. 26. In the boys’ portion of the meet, Fairfield finished second with a score of 2,396 and Mt. Pleasant was fourth, with a total of 2,236. In the girls’ meet, Mt. Pleasant was third, with a 1,927, and Fairfield took fourth, at 1,777.

On the boys side, Fairfield was led by Chance Swan, who rolled a 171 in his first game and a 197 in his second to end up with 368. Ben Johnston rolled a 172 in his first game and a 181 in his second game to finish out at 353. Drake Drish rolled a 149 and a 152 to eclipse 300 as well, ending with 301.

Anthony Osborn rolled a 151 and a 145 to close out ad 296. Drake Rippey bowled a 131 and a 158 for a total of 289. Jacob Scotton rolled a 166 and a 113 to finish at 279.

The Fairfield baker games went 169, 149, 182, 148 and 141, for a final score of 789.

The Mt. Pleasant boys were led by Levi Mills, who finished fourth overall individually. He hit the 200 mark in both games, rolling a 200 and a 204 to finish at 404. Levi Svoboda went 155 and 174 to equal out at 329, and Ethan Oilar rolled a 140 and a 164 to finish at 304.

Logan White rolled a 121 and a 119 to end with a 240. Owen Steinhoff rolled a 130 and a 101 to score 231, and Nolan Mayers rounded out the Panthers with a 123 and an 84 to finish up at 207.

Baker games for the Mt. Pleasant boys went 117, 167, 140, 160 and 144 for a total of 728.

The Mt. Pleasant girls were paced by Alexis Wohlleber, who toook fourth individually at 356. She rolled a 143 in her first game and a 213 in her second. Arlouny Phosy rolled a 155 and a 116 to finish at 271, and Megan Smith rolled a 109 and a 138 to finish at 247.

Gillian Anderson rolled a 120 and a 105 to close her round out at 225. Eden Svoboda rolled a 117 and an 89 to finish at 206. Morelia Eilas rolled a 90 and an 89 to finish at 179.

The Panther girls’ baker games went 102, 180, 90, 141 and 109 for a total of 622.

The Fairfield girls had to bowlers over 260. Bailey Hird rolled a 130 and a 134 to score 264, and Sophia Mineart was right behind her, rolling a 143 and a 120 to end up at 263.

Airianna Taylor rolled an 89 and a 137 for a final score of 226. Karen Ehret rolled a 110 and a 104 to finish at 214. McKayla Taylor rolled a 118 and a 92 to finish at 210, and Jayden Burke rolled a 97 and a 107 for a total of 204.
