ELDON — No. 10 New London flexed their muscle on Tuesday night in a SEISC South Division matchup with Cardinal. The Tigers won the battle of Union area temas in three sets, taking it 25-8. 25-23, 25-14.
Keaura Williams led the Tigers with 15 kills on the night. Addie Pry had 13 and Alexa Wenger finished with eight. Aliyah Christensen dished out 38 assists.
Kyra Linkin had 27 digs to pace the Tiger defense. Marah Hartrick finished with 18 digs nad Alexa Wenger had 12.
New London went 70-72 serving the ball. Hartrick had a huge day serving, going 17-18 with four aces. Linkin and Pry each had one ace.
Cardinal was led once again by Maddie Cloke, who finished the night with 15 kills. Kiya Chapin finished with five Kills. Maddy Langford had 24 assists.
The Comet defense was led by Rachel Lewman, who had 24 digs on the night. Lydia Moses finished with 13 digs, and Cloke had 12.
Cardinal went 38-41 on the serve. Langford went 9-10 with three aces.
New London finished the regular season at 26-8 overall and 6-2 in conference play. They’ll host Hillcrest Academy in the first round of Class 1A regionals on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
Cardinal went 15-13 overall and 1-7 in the conference. They’ll travel to No. 8 Van Buren for the first round of the Class 2A tournament. That game is on Monday, Oct. 21.
