FORT MADISON — The No. 3 (1A) New London volleyball team spoiled Fort Madison’s season opener with a dominant win in the Hound Dome on Thursday night. The Tigers walked into Fort Madison High School and thumped the Bloodhounds, 25-13, 25-15 and 25-16.

It was a big night for sophomore hitter Keaura Williams. She finished with a team-leading 12 kills. Sofie Reighard had 11 kills. Natalie Burden finished with nine. Paris Wilka had five, and Marah Hartrick tallied four.

Aaliyah Christensen dished out 36 assists and ended the night with 13 digs. Burden and Kyra Linkin coled the squad with 17 digs apiece, and Emma Nye sinished the game with four.

New London racked up nine aces on the night. Nye led the way with four. Burden and Hartrick had two apiece, and Christensen finished with one.

The third-ranked Tigers are now 5-0. They’ll look to improve on their 1-0 conference record when they host Notre Dame on Thursday night.
