WAPELLO — The Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division leading Wapello Indians ambushed visiting Columbus in a boys basketball win, 65-18, Tuesday.
Starting fast and never letting up, the Indians led 25-6 after the first quarter, 37-7 at halftime, and 58-14 after three quarters.
Trenton Murray scored 12 points for Wapello.
Mason Hodges had six rebounds for Columbus. Hodges scored five points and teammate Owen Watson also had five points. Brody Frost and timothy Hills scored three points apiece and Mason Hills-Carrier had two points.
Wapello is 7-0 in the North and 9-1 overall while Columbus is 0-11, 0-8.
