VBC drops nail-biter
LETTS — Van Buren County fell in a heartbreaker, dropping a Southeast Iowa Super Conference crossover game to Louisa Muscatine, 47-45, to stay winless on the season.
VBC led 21-16 at halftime, but the Falcons tied the game up at 33-33 after three quarters and nipped the Warriors in the final minutes.
2nd half woes down Highland
MEDIAPOLIS — Highland lost the North Division game 60-33. A 25-20 deficit at the half grew with just six Huskies points in the third quarter. Tristan Stokes scored nine points and Connor Grinstead seven for Highland.
Scoreless third stumps WACO
WAYLAND — WACO trailed by just three points after the first quarter, but a scoreless second put them down 23-6 at the half, and a strong final two quarters wasn’t enough in a 49-35 loss.
Simeon Reichenbach scored 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds in the loss. Isaac Oswald scored eight points, including a pair of 3-point baskets.
