I would like to publicly thank all our educators, administrators and district staff for their efforts this year and all past years throughout the state. In the midst of a global crisis, Iowa public schools are herculean continuing to teach, feed and meet the needs for K-12 students—93.7% of students enrolled in school statewide.

35,537 Educators for innovating to provide online learning and supports for students.

2,212 Food service staff for providing meals for students and families.

1,209 Transportation staff for delivering meals to students and families.

263 Superintendents and 1,144 principals for providing excellent leadership.

3,354 Central office staff for managing day-to-day operations.

3,873 Operations/maintenance staff for ensuring buildings and facilities are safe, clean and sanitized.

627.5 Public School nurses providing healthcare services to our students daily. This does not include the districts who contract with hospitals or public health agencies.
