The Iowa Wesleyan University Department of Music variety show will look different this year. With COVID-19 limiting in-person performances, the “We’re All in This Together: A Virtual Variety Show” will be broadcast on YouTube with a live premier March 5 at 7 p.m.

Each year, the Wesleyan Department of Music sets a goal for raising money in order to allow the Wesleyan choir and other ensembles to tour and attend enriching educational and cultural events. Since the variety show will be online and free to all, they are seeking fundraising help outside of ticket sales and auction items.

The Iowa Wesleyan Department of Music is asking for community members and businesses to support the show and the department by putting up the event posters, liking and sharing the Iowa Wesleyan University Music Facebook page, attending the virtual variety show on YouTube with friends and family, and by becoming a sustaining member of IW Friends of Music.

Funds generated by the IW Friends of Music support the ongoing teaching and learning of all students at Wesleyan, especially those in music classes, lessons, and general education music courses by ensuring access to literature, instruments, educational supplies, field experiences and performance activities, both on and off campus.

There are six levels of donations for IW Friends of Music, ranging from $50 to $1,000-plus. Donations can be made at advancement.iw.edu/give/ under Friends of Music in the drop down menu.
