Henry County hosting 'Wine About the Moon'

Tired of staying home?

Attend Henry County Conservation Department’s Wine About the Moon Phases program on Tuesday, Jan. 26, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Bring a bottle of wine to share in a tasting event to be held on the decks of the new cabins – Imogene and George – at Oakland Mills County Park. Participants will take a moonlight stroll in the woods afterward and learn what the moon has to do with wine.

Face coverings are required while indoors and plastic gloves and tasting cups will be provided, following COVID-19 protocol.

This free event for adults ages 21 and older is weather dependent so watch the Henry County Conservation Department’s Facebook page for updates. Preregistration is required at mycountyparks.com by 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25.

Attendance at this event is part of the conservation department’s Cabin Fever Raffle where participants will be entered in a drawing for a two-night cabin stay coupon valued at $150. Each time you attend one of the qualifying events for the raffle promotion, your name is put in for the drawing.

All the details about the wine and moon program or the raffle can be found at mycountyparks.com under Henry County events or by calling the conservation office at 319-986-5067.
