The Wyman Community Club met Monday, Sept. 2, for an 11:30 a.m. lunch at the Ainsworth Four Corners with eight present.
Those attending were John Wittrig and Laura Wittrig of Winfield, Ruth Erwin, Frieda Finke, Carol Steele, Larry and Nancy Love and Billie Jo Rose.
They will meet again on Monday, Oct. 7, at Ainsworth Four Corners at 11:30 a.m.
On Tuesday, Sept. 3, six members of the White Cloud Club met at 8:15 a.m. at the United Church of Crawfordsville parking lot at 8:15 a.m. for their annual club trip. This year the group traveled to West Branch.
Their first stop was for coffee and cookies at Reid’s Beans Coffee Shop on Main Street. After that they headed for the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum. Following their tour they ate lunch at Mexico Lindo Restaurant.
During their lunch, the club held their business meeting and one Secret Sister gift was exchanged.
Their next stop was at the Crowded Closet in Iowa City. They ended their day with an ice cream treat at the Dairy Mart in Ainsworth.
Those making the trip were Jolene Colthurst, Betty Lintz, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson and Shannon Sells.
Next month’s meeting will be at Gussy’s on Tuesday, Oct. 1, for lunch at 11:30 a.m. with Margaret Patterson as hostess. Mystery Sisters will be revealed and new officers will be elected.
City residents are reminded that Fall Cleanup will be held on Monday, Sept. 16. Items need to be at curbside by 7 a.m.
Household debris should be bagged, with a 100 pound limit.
Wood needs to be bundled.
Paint cans need to be emptied and dried out.
There is a fee for tires and appliances and these items will only be picked up with a sticker on them which can be purchased from the city clerk.
Items that will not be picked up: Oil, burn barrels, yard waste, any hazardous waste, concrete, brick or plaster.
