NEW LONDON — On some years in the SEISC South Division, New London vs. Holy Trinity would be the de facto South Division championship. In a stacked year for the division, the Tigers and Crusaders weren’t playing for it all just yet, but New London still scored their biggest win of the year on Thursday night.
The Tigers defeated No. 5 HTC 25-18, 25-20, 17-25 and 25-22, earning their second South Division win of the year and handing the Crusaders their first.
Addie Pry, a senior who has seen her share of battles with HTC, led the way. She finished the game with 13 kills. Freshman Keaura Williams, who was playing her first game in the rivalry, had eight.
The New London defense answered the call. Marah Hartrick scored 34 digs on the day, and Kyra Linkin had 27. Sofie Reighard had five blocks.
The Tigers will look to grind out another win on Thursday, Sept. 19, at Notre Dame.
