WASHINGTON — Washington residents were left cleaning up fallen leaves, branches and the occasional tree after a storm blew through town on Monday.

One tree branch lay in the middle of the road on North Fifth Avenue south of East 11th Street, while another fell in the yard on the corner of East Van Buren Street and South Second Avenue and missing houses.

Streets around town could be seen littered with sticks and leaves, some residents were out during the storm pulling large branches from roadways.

A branch fell pulling a power line down at 417 East Main Street causing sparking but no fire.
